The Lookout Group, a Houston-based master-planned community developer, will unveil its next major project in May at Clearwater Ranch near Liberty Hill.
The Lookout Group has had a fondness for many years developing residential real estate projects in the far northwestern fringes of Austin. That focus isn’t about to change.
The Houston-based master-planned community developer will unveil its next major project in May at Clearwater Ranch near Liberty Hill, just north of Leander in Williamson County. The Lookout Group also developed Crystal Falls in Leander, which is largely build-out and was profiled in a previous Austin Business Journal story.
“We have been basically sitting on this land for over a decade waiting until it was ripe,” said Bill Hinckley, president of The Lookout Group.
The completion of the 183A toll road has played a pivotal role in making the area accessible and marketable, Hinckley said.
The 600-acre community is approved for about 500 homes, creating what will be a low-density, picturesque community. The area once was a bull pasture for the 2,000-acre Drennan Cattle Ranch.
The selected homebuilders are Kentucky-based Drees Custom Homes, Leander-based Giddens Homes and San Antonio-based Sitterle Homes. Construction on model homes will begin in May. Home prices will range from $350,000 to $600,000.
The company also will soon build the 1,500-acre Esperanza community in Boerne near San Antonio.
